Modular & Scalable
Gryphon dryers are built in repeatable segments (3-, 5-, or 10-foot wide) so you can tailor capacity and footprint to your space and expand as needed.
1
Energy Efficient Recirculating
Air System
The use of a closed-loop air stream improves drying efficiency, lowers energy consumption, and can reduce the need for air exhaust permitting.
Automated & Maintenance Friendly
The Gryphon system is designed with fewer moving parts, easy service access, and automation (PLC/HMI controls) so that operation and servicing are simpler.
3
Reduced Material Output
By drying dewatered sludge/cake to a much lower moisture content, volume and hauling costs decrease, and the dried residuals can become a valuable product.
GRYPHON DRYER BENEFITS

ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS
Transporting wet sludge consumes unnecessary energy and increases the risk of spills. Incinerating sludge contributes to harmful air emissions, while landfilling adds to instability and leachate issues. Drying reduces these impacts and creates opportunities for safe land application or further treatment through pyrolysis or membrane processes.
CASE STUDY
ENDICOTT, NY
Challenge: As the Endicott Wastewater Treatment Plant began phasing out its anaerobic sludge composting operation in 2019, the Village of Endicott, New York, needed an easier and more reliable way to achieve Class A biosolids production.
Solution: After discovering Gryphon Dryers, the Village chose our single-pass belt dryer and partnered closely with our engineering team throughout design, installation, and commissioning. While the initial startup went smoothly, seasonal loading changes revealed the need to increase drying capacity and performance. Gryphon responded by re-engineering key components and implementing targeted upgrades that enhanced dryer throughput to meet the Village’s needs.
Innovation at Gryphon never stops, and the Village chose to implement additional upgrades to the dryer’s sludge distribution system in 2024. This upgrade was an immediate success and further reduced service labor and streamlined day-to-day operations, ensuring long-term reliability and ease of use.
Impact: Thanks to the Village’s strong plant operations and the way the Gryphon Dryer conditions and treats sludge, the plant secured Class A certification at an impressive 75% total solids. This has enabled the facility to reliably reduce biosolids volumes by 70%-75%, produce a Class A product year-round, and confidently support continued land application or advanced future reuse strategies like pyrolysis.
