Overview/Job Summary

Gryphon Environmental, Inc. is an established leader in advanced thermal drying technology, and we are looking to expand our team. Gryphon Environmental's equipment has been installed throughout the United States and serves a variety of industries, including municipalities, wastewater treatment, and agriculture. Our flagship location in Owensboro, Kentucky is seeking to add a talented welder/fabricator to our team. The purpose of this role is to assist in the production of dryer systems by welding, fabricating, assembling, and installing the components of the drying systems.
 

Responsibilities Include:

• Work as part of the fabrication team to produce stainless steel industrial components.

• Operate MIG welding machines and understand gas flow, electrical connections, and assembly/disassembly of the welding machine torch, filler wire, and other consumables.

• Read blueprints and layout drawings to fabricate and assemble components.

• Operate industrial band saw to cut stainless steel tubing.

• Safely operate fork trucks to move components in the fabrication area.

• Rig nylon straps and wire ropes in the shop and in the field to perform safe lifts.

• Maintain work environment in a safe and orderly fashion utilizing the 5S Method of Sustainability.

• Travel to customer sites to assist in the installation and startup of equipment.

• Other duties as assigned.
   

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years minimum of manufacturing experience.

• Must be able to read fabrication drawings and build equipment from prints.

• Must be able to produce high-quality MIG and TIG welds and have high-quality welding and fabrication skills.

• Candidates must be dependable, consistently on time, and have a strong work ethic.

• Must be self-motivated and able to accept constructive feedback.

• Ability to work safely alone and/or in groups.

• Ability to travel to job sites out of state as required.
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience fabricating steel structures from raw materials.

• Experience maintaining general industrial and fabrication equipment.

• Basic electrical knowledge with the ability to read a volt meter and diagnose basic electrical issues.

• Experience with natural gas furnaces and air heaters is a plus.
